LET’S GROW THIS CONVERSATION
‘Let’s Grow This conversation’ was a project that I completed during the final stages of my Master’s degree. I worked with a community gardening group called Herb.Yourself, which is based in Fishponds, Bristol. After working with the group for two months, I began to notice the effects of gardening and the importance of the volunteer experience. These posters are inspired by the conversations and interviews with the volunteers in the group. The lines of type explore the unexpected nature of the volunteer experience, as well as celebrate the importance of community groups in the well-being and development of a sense of community. The designs were created by experimenting with paper cutouts, inspired by the narrative of the text in the posters and natural shapes. I used the paper cutout technique to make the designs as I felt it reflected the nature of the volunteer group.
